Highly respected Roman Catholic School in Tameside are looking for an English graduate to provide additional support to their English department. Over subscribed and regularly achieving above national averages academically this is a great opportunity if you are looking to gain school based experience to support a PGCE application.

Applications are welcome from English graduates, candidates with school based experience or anyone with a passion for English and looking to become an English teacher in the future. Commencing in the upcoming weeks this will be a long term supply position to the end of the school year initially.

Students are exceptionally well behaved at this school with over 700 pupils on roll. The post will consist of varying responsibilities which you will be expected to adapt to. The successful English teaching assistant will have an ability to engage students within their learning and have a significant impact on them reaching expected target grades.

You will work directly alongside fully qualified English teachers and provide support to students who are on the C/D borderline or high achievers looking to achieve excellence. Located just off the M67 in the M34 post code of Tameside the school has accessible public transport methods for those that don’t drive.
