Job description

Due to a restructure within the English department our client secondary school in Rochdale is currently seeking a teacher of English to join their faculty on a full time basis. This position will initially be for half a term but has the potential to continue.

  • Full time English teacher position, starting on the 19th February
  • Attractive pay scales up to £150 a day dependant on experience

Situated in Littleborough, Rochdale this is a mixed 11-16 secondary school with over 1300 students currently on roll. This academic year the Head Teacher and Senior Leadership team have put a focus on the standards of teaching and restructured the behaviour management policy having a positive turn around in behaviour, quality of teaching and attitude to learning. The school have also put provisions in place for student who start the school not yet achieving the minimum expected grades in English to assist with closing the gap. The incoming English teacher will be joining a well established English department who consistently achieve good grades and are constantly striving to be Outstanding.

The incoming English teacher will:

  • Have a UK QTS specialising in English
  • Have a good understanding of the English curriculum and must have experience teaching up to GCSE
  • Be able to deliver and prepare innovative and engaging lessons
  • Report back to the Head of English on the performance and progress of all students

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
