English Teacher Tameside Secondary School, September

Teaching Personnel have been asked by our partner secondary school in Tameside to recruit a full time English teacher for an expected staff departure from October half term. Due to the current member leaving the English department this is an open vacancy with the option to earn a permanent contract after an initial introduction through Teaching Personnel.

Applications are welcome from NQTs or experienced English teachers simply looking for a new challenge or career progression. The English department consists of six full time teachers and a Head of Department who is in their third year at the school. Academically the school achieves just below national averages and Progress 8 targets so the incoming teacher of English will be tasked with increasing the academic achievement of pupils taught.

Medium sized with around 750 students, this traditional 11-16 mixed comprehensive school is situated in an area of relatively low social depravity with high levels of students eligible for free school meals and higher then average number of students with some form of special education needs. Recently converted to an academy the school has made a significant strides in the past 18 months to become a Good to Outstanding Secondary school.

Located in the SK14 post code of Tameside the school can be located just off the M67/M60 motorway and has a direct train station from Manchester a short walk away.
