English Teacher, Second in Department

The School which is based in the Coastal town of Bognor Regis, is looking to appoint a Second in Department/Charge of English to join them in September on a full time, permanent basis (subject to Temp to Perm). The successful Candidate will be tasked with assisting the Head of Faculty in providing professional leadership and management of the English Faculty. Ensuring high quality teaching across the Key Stages 3-5, as well as improved standards of learning and high levels of achievement for all students. The School are looking to enhance their provision of English across the Key Stages and in order to achieve this they need an ambitious Teacher who is passionate about teaching and learning.

The School is a large mixed Secondary, that enjoys good transport links and has recently been graded 'Good' by Ofsted. The School's cohort is aged 11 to 18, its KS5 provision is well-established and whilst the ability to teach at KS5 is not a prerequisite for the role, an interest in supporting the Departments participation in its Sixth Form is desirable. At KS3 and KS4 the School continues to exceed the national average across the board, and the Department itself performed over and above the national average in last years GCSE's. The Department is well established on its journey to 'Outstanding', and enjoys strong senior leadership and excellent resources. Despite these successes, they strive for improvement and a reflective, collaborative and dynamic approach is key to the Department's ethos.
