English Teacher (Northamptonshire)

Teaching Personnel are currently working closely alongside a secondary school in central Northampton who is seeking a teacher of English to join them in January 2019 or sooner. The school caters to students aged 11-18 and aims to create a thriving and exciting learning community where both staff and students can achieve their full potential. In 2015 Ofsted commented that in English the achievement of students is 'good' and that pupils are taught well in this subject. You will be working alongside an English department where the leadership has been described by Ofsted as "strong" and staff members collaborate closely to ensure student progress. The school focus strongly on sports and believe that that physical education is an essential part of life. They also regard themselves as a specialist performing arts centre; focusing on innovative curriculum and desiring to drive success in all areas for their students. The candidate will need to be available five days a week and the pay rate for this role will fall between £130 and £160 per day.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be passionate about English with extensive knowledge of the subject
  • Be dedicated to planning and delivering lessons in an innovate and engaging way
  • Achieve results and drive progress among students and within the department
  • Show excellent communication skills in the classroom
  • Have outstanding organisation skills needed to plan, prepare and execute diverse lessons catering to all abilities
  • Bring a sense of creativity to the role and also match the school's forward thinking ethos

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
