Teaching Personnel is collaborating closely with one of our partner schools in Wigan to seek a dedicated Teacher of English to support the school from January 2024 until the end of the academic year.

This presents an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking an English teaching role until July 2024.

The role will involve instructing multiple GCSE classes across KS4, and there may be a need to assist with departmentally organized revision sessions for year 11 students at specific times during the academic year. You will become part of a supportive department within a well-managed school located in the heart of Wigan, Greater Manchester.

The Role:

  • A full-time position suitable for either a Newly Qualified Teacher (ECT) or a Fully Qualified Teacher (FQT) seeking a long-term role.
  • Long-term cover extending until July 2024.
  • Responsibilities include teaching English to secondary school students aged 11-16 years (KS3 – KS4).
  • Preparing and planning lessons with associated marking requirements.
  • Following and promoting the school curriculum while striving for the highest levels of attainment.
  • Compensation ranging from £120 to £215 per day for the initial 12 weeks of the role (after 12 weeks: AWR rate, paid according to the school's pay scale).
