  • Delivering one to one tuition on a part time or full time basis
  • Sessions booked in blocks of 2 hours and pay rates vary from £20* per hour
  • Supporting students with a range of special educational needs including ASC, ADHD, PD & SEMH

I am currently looking to appoint an English Teacher to work on a one-to-one basis in Whitby. The council provision caters for students that are excluded from mainstream education, due to their Special Educational Needs. They are looking for someone who is able to promote high attainment alongside exceptional behaviour management.

The position is due to start in either September or October 2017, depending on your availability and is until the students get a school placement, or an alternative provision. The successful candidate will be responsible for all of the planning, teaching and assessment involved with role. NQTs are welcome to apply for this role.

You will require:

• Teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert. Ed etc.) or equivalent

• Evidence of good classroom control

• A track record of demonstrating a strong ability to teach, plan and prepare lessons to Ofsted standards

• A strong and creative approach to teaching and raising attainment

• A commitment to develop the personalities, talents and abilities of all students

• A confident and positive approach to working with children

• An enthusiasm to learn and develop professionally

• A passion for working with pupils with SEN

• NQTs are welcome to apply

• A current Child Workforce Only DBS registered with the Update Service or a DBS done through Teaching Personnel

Job Type: Temporary/Agency

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
