English Teacher for April 2017 or sooner if possible

We are seeking an ambitious and inspirational classroom practitioner with strong subject knowledge to join an excellent English Department. The successful candidate will teach across both key stages and demonstrate a passion for their subject to inspire a love of learning.

The English Department at the school is a close knit team, dedicated to supporting each other and their students to enable them to thrive, develop and succeed.

The School is a mixed 11-16 School with around 1200 students on roll situated in the heart of Southsea. Pupils come from a very wide range of backgrounds and their community is truly comprehensive, harmonious and dynamic. The school is proud to be of an Education Trust. They have recently been graded as a good school (Ofsted November 2016) and celebrated achieving our best GCSE results ever.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
