Job description

Teaching Personnel are currently working in partnership with a large mixed comprehensive Secondary school in the Salford LEA. Due to a restructure within the English faculty, the school wish to appoint an English teacher to join their well established faculty from September 2018.

This full time position will initially be available until the end of the new academic year, with the opportunity to gain a permanent contract from July 2019.

  • Full time English teacher required, September 2018 start
  • Teaching across Key Stage Three and GCSE
  • Departmental responsibilities of planning and marking
  • Experience teaching the new GCSE specification is desirable
  • Pay in line with teaching scale point (£22,917 - £38,633 per annum)

The school are encouraging applications from both experienced and newly qualified English teachers, and there will be support in place for the successful English teacher.

Located near to the centre of Salford, this large mixed comprehensive 11-16 Secondary school can be accessed via the M602 Motorway. Public transportation links from surrounding areas Bolton, Bury and Leigh also provide a direct route to the school.

The school have a neutral Progress 8 score meaning that all pupils are making the expected progress in all subjects and the school has been praised for successfully raising attainment in English this academic year. With 1,300 pupils on roll, the school is significantly larger than average, and with plans of expansion, the school wish to create larger learning spaces in the academic year 2018/2019.
