Due to a gap within their English department, our client school are looking to appoint an English teacher to join them from January, with a view to securing a permanent post within the school.

  • - Full time English teacher required for a minimum of 12 months
  • - Earn in line with your teaching scale point (MPS/UPS)
  • - Join well facilitated department which leads on attainment and progress throughout
  • - Ofsted Good secondary school with history of excellent behaviour and results
  • - All levels of experience welcome to apply, including newly qualified English teachers

Our client school is smaller than most secondary schools with less than 700 students currently enrol, though heavily subscribed as the school of choice for a large number of students and parents in the local community. The school is situated in Middleton, and can be easily accessed from Rochdale and Bury town centres via road or public transport links and the nearby M60, M66 and M62 motorways connects the school to surrounding LEAs. The school has consistently achieved above the national average for results for a number of years and is regularly in the top quartile for pupil progress in the Rochdale LEA. In their most recent Ofsted inspection, they were judged to be Good across all areas with the influential senior leadership team a reason for excellent staff development, which is accredited to the high standards of teaching and learning throughout.

Requirements;

  • UK QTS and a relevant teaching based qualification specialising in English
  • A commitment to securing a long term position within a secondary setting
  • The ability to deliver a consistent high calibre of English lessons for 11 - 16 year olds.
