The Headteacher at an over-subscribed Secondary school based in Bolton is seeking to appoint a passionate English Teacher, on a full time basis from October 2019, for a fixed 12 month period.

Due to a restructure within the English department this large Secondary school wishes to recruit a dynamic practitioner looking to take on a full time role within a highly successful department.

The management of teaching includes regular scrutiny of students' work in which all teachers are required to participate.   • Full time English teacher required from September 2019 (12 months).
  • Must hold QTS alongside a relevant Degree level qualification within English.

  • Pay in line with new MPS/UPS £24, 313 - £40, 391.

The incoming English teacher will be reporting to the Head of Department and will be responsible for the teaching and learning of English at Key stages 3/4. As an outstanding English teacher, you will be expected to consistently deliver dynamic English lessons alongside maintaining the highest standards of professional practice, teaching and expectation of all pupils.

The successful English teacher will be required to;

  • Have up to date subject knowledge and a track record of success in maximising pupil progress across all key stages.
  • Consistently deliver outstanding English lessons in line with the National curriculum in order to support pupil progression.
  • Take on extra curricular responsibilities where required as the English faculty utilise a variety of activities such as theatre visits, academic support sessions and intervention.

Based at the borderline between Bury and Bolton, the Secondary school is easily accessible via the M60 and the surrounding areas; Bury, Preston and Salford. There are also various public transport options readily available with links across Greater Manchester.
