Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with our client secondary school who are seeking applications from English teachers keen to secure a fixed term position in November 2019.

Our client secondary school are seeking to appoint a qualified English teacher for a maternity cover, and the incoming English teacher would join an Ofsted ‘Good’ secondary who are achieving well above the average of the local authority in both progress and attainment scores.

Highlights of English teacher;

  • 12 month Maternity Cover starting in November 2019
  • Teaching English to students ages 11-16 (KS3/GCSE)
  • Must hold QTS – Previous experience delivering English across the full age, gender and ability range, in a secondary school is essential.
  • Pay in line with MPS/UPS scale (GBP24,373 – GBP40,490)

The successful English teacher will join the school’s successful English department which is led by an experienced Head of Department along with other committed teachers. It is crucial that all teachers within the English department meet the expectations set by the school and share the same ambition to regularly deliver ‘Outstanding’ levels of teaching practice regularly and stretch the learning of their pupils.

Our client school have highlighted that they would like to appoint a confident English teacher with excellent behaviour management skills, though behaviour is largely positive during lessons. Any Newly Qualified English teachers are encouraged to apply with the school having excellent training and development programmes available to all teaching staff. Teachers who are results orientated with a proven track record of achieving excellent results at GCSE level and are confident in their ability to bolster results across the subject will be highly desirable to the school.

Situated between Wigan and Leigh, with good accessibility to Warrington too, our client school is a small, well-established secondary with an excellent reputation in the local community due to a recent record of excellent results and outcomes for their students.
