Job description

Teaching Personnel are currently seeking a Teacher of English on behalf of our client school located in Wigan.

Due to an upcoming gap within their English department, this 11-16 mixed comprehensive school wish to appoint an English Teacher from January 2018. This will be for two terms initially but also has the potential to extend beyond that. There will also be a permanent contract available for the right candidate dependent upon effectiveness in the role.

Overview of the role;

  • Full time English teaching position- KS3/4
  • Comprehensive support from an excellent management team - identified by Ofsted

English teachers wishing to be considered for this opportunity will be required to;

  • Undertake full teaching responsibilities including; marking, planning and attending termly parent's evenings.
  • Deliver engaging and energetic lessons to pupils of all abilities across KS3 and GCSE
  • Consistently provide outstanding practice and show evidence of achieving excellent results
  • Stretch the learning of all pupils and ensure they reach their full potential

In its most recent Ofsted report (2016) the Head teacher was praised for raising the standards and having the ambition to provide every pupil with the best possible outcomes. As a result, this is an exciting time to join the school as it continues to go from strength to strength.

Located on the outskirts of Leigh, bordering Salford, the school is easily accessible via the East Lancashire road from Manchester City centre and has good public transport links from the surrounding areas; Wigan, Bolton, St Helens and Salford.
