Are you an English teacher looking to make that next step in your career?

Teaching Personnel are working with one of our Outstanding client schools in Rochdale on recruiting an English teacher to join their hard working department.

Working as an English teacher at our client school you can expect:

  • Full time post until at least July
  • Pay in line with MPS and UPS (£23,720-£35,008)
  • Teaching English to both KS3 and GCSE level

Our client school is a large academy located in Rochdale. They moved to a new build in 2011, and so feature state-of-the-art, modern facilities. The school has great transport links, is easily reachable by public transport and is situated close to the M62 motorway.

The latest Ofsted report of our client school commented on the high standards and expectations of the students, and the impact of teaching on pupils' progress. They were graded Outstanding by Ofsted on their last inspection.

"The department is committed to a broad approach to the subject. There are many enrichment opportunities built into the curriculum for all students to access. The department regularly visits the theatre and cinema, run reading challenges and participates in a wide range of World Book Day opportunities. We invite local poets into school and also encourage year ten students to become 'Literacy Mentors' in order to support the literacy skills of younger students." Director of English.

As an English teacher at our client school, you should:

  • Have QTS and relevant teaching qualifications
  • Experience teaching English up to KS4
  • Have an ability to inspire in children a love of literature and language
  • Engage students in high quality lessons
