English Teacher

Job description

Teaching Personnel are working exclusively with an academy based in Chichester to recruit an English teacher for September 2018. The School aims to raise attainment within the department whilst providing a rounded and rich educational experience for all students. The School believes that every student is entitled to respect, care and support.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • You must be able to confidently plan, mark and deliver lessons to KS3 and 4 Students.
  • To be able to adapt your teaching skills to suit each pupils needs.
  • You will be a good team player with good behaviour management skills.
  • Be able and willing to take general cover lessons when needed.
  • Attend extra curricular activities such as: Parents Evenings, Revision Sessions and Book Club (optional).

Qualifications and Skills

  • Candidates must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS,QTLS, or NQT). Or equivalent teaching qualification if an Instructor, or Overseas Trained.
  • The ideal candidate will have experience of teaching KS3, KS4 English Literature and Language.
  • Relevant Safeguarding training/qualification.
  • Desirable to be familiar with SIMs.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
