We are looking for an enthusiastic, resilient and creative Specialist English Teacher to join our secondary team, teaching across Key Stages 3 and 4. This role combines a strong focus on academic achievement with the development of social, emotional and independence skills, helping students overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.

About the Role

You will lead engaging and personalised English lessons for students with a range of needs, including Autism, SEMH and complex learning profiles. Working within a therapeutic and relationship-centred environment, you will adapt your teaching to meet individual needs while maintaining high expectations for achievement.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be a qualified (QTS) and highly effective teacher with experience at KS3 and KS4.
  • Have experience working with, or a willingness to develop expertise in supporting, young people with Autism, SEMH and complex needs.
  • Be creative, flexible and committed to delivering an engaging curriculum.
  • Understand the importance of building positive relationships and creating a safe, supportive learning environment.
  • Be motivated to continually improve outcomes and experiences for pupils.

Our Approach

We believe behaviour is communication and place relationships at the centre of everything we do. Our therapeutic model is underpinned by PACE principles, supporting students to feel safe, understood and ready to learn.

Despite the challenges many of our students have faced, we maintain ambitious expectations for their futures. We offer a broad range of qualifications and are a registered examination centre. Most of our students progress successfully to mainstream college placements, and we aim for every secondary student to leave with up to six qualifications or awards, including English qualifications ranging from Entry Level through to GCSE, as appropriate.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
