Job description

Qualified English Teacher

Location: Oldbury, Secondary School 

Start date: ASAP/ January 2026 

Pay Rate: MPS/UPS (dependent on experience) 


 

We are supporting a secondary school in Oldbury that is seeking a Qualified English Teacher to join the department either immediately or from January. The school is committed to raising achievement in English, developing strong literacy skills, and providing students with a positive and consistent learning experience.

This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who enjoys creating engaging lessons, building student confidence, and supporting progress across all Key Stages.

What youll be doing: 

  • Teach English across KS3 and KS4

  • Plan and deliver engaging, structured lessons that meet the needs of all students

  • Promote high standards of literacy, communication, and critical thinking

  • Support students with GCSE preparation and assessment

  • Work collaboratively within the English department to ensure consistency

  • Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback

What were looking for:

  • Qualified English Teacher (QTS)

  • Recent experience teaching English in a UK secondary school

  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills

  • Confident, organised and adaptable

  • DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

  • Available ASAP or from January
