English Teacher- East Manchester area- September 2018

Due to an upcoming gap within the English department, Teaching Personnel have been approached by our partner secondary school to recruit for a qualified English Teacher. This represents a fantastic opportunity for an English Teacher to join a school that is achieving rapid progress under a newly appointed Head teacher. There is also the possibility of a fixed-term contract being offered to the suitable English teacher.

  • Full time English teaching position
  • Teaching English to both KS3 to KS4
  • Located on the outskirts of Manchester close to the city centre
  • Pay in line with MPS/UPS dependant on experience (£22,917- £38,633)

The Head of English is an experienced teacher who has high expectations of both staff and pupils. The successful applicant must be fully committed to taking on full teaching responsibilities such as planning, marking and attending termly parents' evenings.

Our partner school is slightly smaller in comparison to those in the surrounding areas with it currently catering for just over 600 pupils. The numbers of pupils eligible for pupil premium and those who speak English as an Additional Language are slightly higher than the national average.

It is located on the outskirts of Manchester town centre offering excellent accessibility to East Manchester and areas of Stockport via the M60 motorway. There are also direct public transport links to the school from Manchester city centre.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
