About the School
I have an excellent secondary school located in Barnet who are currently looking to hire English language or literature teachers on a full time basis.
The ideal candidate will be have a passion for the English language and is eager to start a new role. The school are looking for candidates to join their strong and talented staff. They demand and achieve high standards and ensure these standards are maintained by promoting an atmosphere of encouragement. The development of good habits in the students working life is a priority, the aim to instil ideals such as organisation and responsibility.
The school enable their students to plan for their futures after school, whether it university or work, with several different programs and a Sixth Form centre. Ofsted gave this school a rating of "outstanding" and stated along with an outstanding Sixth Form the school give all students an equal opportunity, also noting "students have a genuine hunger to excel in all areas of their life."
This fantastic school is looking for strong candidates who not only care about their students and can control a class proficiently, but are also excited by the subject they teach.
About the role
English literature or language teaching role
Secondary school level, ages 11-16 (KS3-5)
Full-time role; 5 days a week, 8:30am - 3:30pm
It would be a temporary role lasting between 2 terms and 1 year
Creating engaging and interesting lessons in line with the National Curriculum
The school expect the incoming English teacher to provide extra tuition to those who made need it.
There will be a requirement to plans, prepare, mark and assess student's work as well as providing feedback.
Location
The school is a 15 minute walk from Mill Hill Broadway station, located near Edgware.
Requirements - Please do not apply if you do not meet the below requirements
An English teacher with UK recognised teaching qualifications (BA QTS, BSc QTS, CERT ED, PGCE)
Experience teaching at secondary school from KS3-KS4 level
A passionate and friendly teacher with a hard-working attitude and dedication towards their students
