English Graduate - Teaching Assistant position
Teaching Personnel are currently looking to recruit a English Graduate for one of our key partner secondary schools that is located near Shevington, Wigan.
The school seek to appoint an English Graduate for a full-time position where the incoming member of staff will be required to work closely with the Head of the schools English Department to ensure that lessons operate smoothly and that students within the school receive an excellent level of education.
English Graduate Position
- Cover Supervisor, Teaching Assistant and 1:1 Support responsibilities
- Full-time role from with the school seeking to appoint ahead of the schools return in January 2019
- Competitive pay rates with earning potential of up to £1200 a month
- Excellent opportunity to gain experience within a supportive secondary school.
This exciting position is available for someone who now wishes to gain further experience within a secondary school environment ahead of completing a teacher training course in the future.
The successful English Graduate will be employed from January 2019 on a temporary basis for the remainder of the academic year.
The Head of English seeks to appoint an English Graduate in order to support the schools English department and the teaching faculty within the department. In return the Head of English will be committed to ensuring that they are supporting the successful staff member in their pursuit of becoming a teacher in the future.
Responsibilities that this position will include
- General Teaching Assistant duties - Supporting the main class teacher ensuring lessons operate smoothly
- Providing lesson cover where a teacher is absent - This will be fully supported by the school
- Working closely with students on a 1:1 basis - Providing support to students who require additional support throughout the day.
The incoming member of staff will be joining a school that currently caters for around 650 pupils, making it small when compared to other schools in the area. The majority of these students come from a white British background.
The school is situated between Orrell and the Wigan town centre making it easily accessible via car or public transport from the surrounding areas; Skelmersdale, Chorley, Standish & Ashton-in-Makerfield.
