Our partner school is seeking to appoint an experienced English graduate to work with their English department. This position will involve delivering interventions to small target groups, and covering lessons across the curriculum in the absence of the class teacher. This is an excellent opportunity for an English graduate that wishes to pursue a career in secondary education.
• Full time English cover position starting immediately- potential to carry on in September
• Gain experience within a classroom setting prior to starting a teacher training programme
• Work under the guidance of teaching and associate staff in English lessons
• Attractive pay rates starting from £252 a week
Located in Manchester, the school is easily accessible via the A664 and has excellent transport links situated close to the school. The school serves a diverse catchment area and a large majority of students arrive at the school with levels of attainment below the national average, but by the end of KS3 are making better than expected progress in literacy and numeracy. The school boasts state of the art facilities which provide excellent provisions for learning. In their most recent Ofsted inspection, the school received a ‘Good’ grading and expect to surpass this in their next inspection.
It is essential for this role that the appointed graduate holds some relevant experience with pupils of Secondary age. Further to this, it is also desirable for the successful English specialist to have experience of leading small groups.
