Job description

This vacancy has now expired. Please see similar roles below...

Are you competitive and outgoing? Can you confidently demonstrate passion, resilience, and tenacity?

A career in education recruitment with Teaching Personnel can offer a professional role with real responsibilities, real rewards, and very real career.

We are currently looking to appoint an SEN specialist Education Recruitment Consultant in our Northants and Hertfordshire branch. The role would involve working with SEN schools across the region to satisfy their staffing requirements, while also recruiting specialist teachers and support staff to work in SEN environments. Knowledge of the SEN sector and understanding students’ needs is beneficial but not essential. As an Education Recruitment Consultant, you will support education professionals in finding teaching jobs and classroom support staff roles on a temporary and permanent basis.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • A high volume of sales and business development calls to schools across the region
  • Resourcing quality teachers and support staff and carrying out interviews (via video conferencing tools due to COVID-19)
  • Regular face-to-face client meetings (held virtually) to build relationships with key decision makers within schools. A full UK driving license and access to a vehicle will be essential to travel to different schools post COVID-19.
  • Creating quality marketing and advertising
  • Demonstrating excellent communication skills with both clients and candidates

What qualities do we look for?

Teaching Personnel are very team orientated and all branches work together to achieve targets and support each other. There is a very collaborative learning environment where everyone’s thoughts and ideas are supported and encouraged. Resilience, competitiveness and a ‘can do’ attitude are vital in a target driven sales environment and these are essential to achieving success in the role.

The Northants and Hertfordshire office is based in the heart of Northampton and is a busy and vibrant office with a close knit professional team. Someone who can hit the ground running on day one will make such a positive impact to the team overall. Future opportunities also exist to train and then take on a management role if that is where you would like your career to go.

We are looking for individuals who are educated to degree level. What discipline you studied is not important, but we look for people who believe in the same things we do - the desire to provide a quality and professional service to the teachers and schools who rely on us.

You will have the opportunity to demonstrate these skills and qualities through your application and then during our interview process should you be shortlisted. The interview process includes a telephone interview, first interview (conducted via video call), psychometric tests and a second interview should you be successful at the first stage.

Why choose Teaching Personnel?

Teaching Personnel are the market-leading destination employer offering excellent career progression and prospects to those who work hard to achieve.

You will be enrolled in our excellent training from day one and our ‘always improving’ approach ensures that employees are always being given support to achieve their full potential through our high-quality learning and development pathways.

Along with fantastic training and a structured career path from Trainee to Branch Manager and beyond you can expect an excellent starting salary, uncapped performance-related commission and a large range of benefits including:

  • Regular prizes for service and performance and two company events a year
  • Reduced working hours in school holidays
  • Generous holiday entitlement which increases with service
  • Contributory stakeholder pension
  • Life assurance

If you are looking for a change of direction in your career or have recently graduated and are looking to secure your first role, we would love to hear from you.

Please apply with an updated CV and covering letter, interviews are being arranged for a January start.
