Teaching Personnel are representing an 'Outstanding' School in South Sheffield, who are currently looking for a Teaching Assistant to support with EYFS transition on a temporary basis. The post will start in September, and will initially be until April 2022 (this could be extended due to the nature of the support).
You must have experience working within Early Years settings recently, and be familiar with children who are 'not school ready'. There may be some elements of personal care involved, some children may require interventions to support them settling into school life. You must have knowledge of Early Years Goals and expectations, and be able to support children learning through play with 'in the moment' planning and outdoor exploration. You will have experience recording the progress of children, by taking photos and identifying when children have reached a target. We are looking for someone who is calm and patient, able to inspire and motivate the children they are working with.
The school is based in the S17 area of Sheffield, and has an excellent reputation. Roles within this school are highly sought after. The school promotes creativity and resourcefulness, learning through P4C (Philosophy for Children), TASC (Thinking in a Social Context) and outdoor learning. Daily Rate; GBP66.30

Roles and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to;
- Working alongside the class teacher to identify the needs of the children
- Supporting children to 'learn through play' and explore the outside areas
- In the moment planning
- Phonics groups
- Nurture sessions
- Supporting children who are 'not school ready', some personal care elements
- Teaching children boundaries and how to interact appropriately
- Monitoring progress using assessment tools (Ipad)
- Working on a 121 basis or with small groups of children
- Supporting children identified as SEND or undergoing assessment

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
