Do you have experience in a nursery setting and are in search of a new position for the new academic year?

A wonderful and well-resourced nursery, located within a Preston primary school, is looking to appoint a Nursery Nurse to begin in September 2019. The successful candidate will help to provide a positive and welcoming learning environment for new arrivals, ensuring they feel happy and safe in their new surroundings. They will also be the Key Worker for a small group of children. The Early Years professionals at the nursery aim to provide a vast array of hands-on and engaging learning opportunities for the children, which help them to take part in all areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum. They therefore hope to employ a Nursery Nurse who is able to bring in new and exciting ideas that will help them to achieve this.

The EYFS unit within the school was graded 'GOOD' by Ofsted, particularly because of the way in which the staff members enable the children to thrive within their learning environment and achieve good progress. It was also highlighted that children with disabilities make outstanding progress because of the highly specialist support provided by the practitioners. Behaviour of the children is said to be exemplary. Rules and routines are well-established and the children follow these exceptionally well.

The nursery is located on the outskirts of Preston city centre and is easily accessible via public transport. A high proportion of the children who attend the nursery are from ethnic minority backgrounds with the majority speaking English as an additional language. The number of children with special educational needs is also above the national average.

This Nursery Nurse role is full-time and will begin in September 2019, continuing until October half-term, possibly longer. Working hours include: 8:45am - 3:15pm, with half an hour for lunch.

The successful candidate must have:

• Level 2 Childcare related qualification or above
• Recent experience in a nursery setting
• Available from September 2019
