TESOL/TEFL qualification is desirable

A Head Teacher from a primary school in Burnley has been in touch regarding a EAL support role they are seeking from September 2020, the role would be for the duration of the Autumn term at least (September - Decemeber). You must have experience and knowledge in teaching children with no English. The Head Teacher is hoping to utilise the successful applicant across Key Stage 1 and 2 to provide additional support both in and outside of the classroom. In the morning sessions, you would be a  supporting small groups of children within the classroom, predominantly in Key Stage 1. In the afternoon sessions, you would be supporting pupils across Key Stage 1 and Lower Key Stage 2 by running interventions. Each weeky, you would be given time to discuss the intervention sessions with the class teachers. You would be expected assess the intervention groups and feedback to the class teachers. You would be allocated time during the week to plan and assess the intervention work. The expectations of the role would be 5 days a week (8.45am - 3.30pm).

The role is to start on Monday 7th September 2020 on a full time basis. The Head Teacher aims to shortlist and interview by 10th July 2020; however, with the current circumstances, it is possible this could change. Interviews may also be taken place over a video conference call. Rates of pay are competitive starting at GBP10.00 - GBP11.50 per hour paid into your bank account on a weekly basis.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
