Teaching personnel are currently recruiting for a Drama/performing arts graduate, local to the Rochdale area, to work with our partner school in Heywood OL11. You will take on the role of a ‘cover supervisor’ (unqualified teacher), where you will deliver Drama/performing arts lessons to students up to KS4. You may also be required to cover some music lessons; however, this will be planned for you and be for KS3 students.

As a cover supervisor, you will gain invaluable experience within a school setting, that gives you an insight into classroom, how to plan and prepare engaging lessons, and is a great addition to future PGCE applications.

The role

You will be responsible for teaching to classes of KS3/4 students for the remainder of the academic year. You will manage the learning of a class of up to 30 students, working directly alongside teachers and senior members within the school to assist in delivering the curriculum. Some planning and marking may be required. You will need to have a strong presence, be able to manage behaviour and encourage learning.

Requirements

  • Degree in Drama, Performing Arts of Equivalent
  • Passion to help young people succeed
  • Previous experience teaching/tutoring to young people (desirable)
  • Team player
  • Subject to clearance of a child-only DBS certificate
