If so, we have the perfect role for you!

Teaching Personnel are actively seeking Disability Studies Graduates who have aspirations of supporting young people with SEN, particularly in SEN Schools. We work with a number of schools and alternative provisions who cater for pupils with varying needs including Autism, Social, Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties, Physical Disabilities, ADHD, Severe Learning Difficulties, Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties, Hearing / Visual Impairments and those who may express challenging behaviours.

During your Degree / Studies we appreciate you will have gained knowledge and understanding of effective practice, taking into consideration traditional and contemporary theoretical approaches and practical perspectives of impairment. We also appreciate that you will have the ability to critically analyse your role in meeting individual needs, working with parents, families and professionals and engaging with multi-disciplinary services. You will also have the skills and autonomy pertinent to working both independently and collaboratively, communicating effectively and being proactive in developing and leading practice which supports early intervention and meets the needs of individuals and the sector.

At Teaching Personnel we can offer the opportunity to provide SEN Support as a Teaching Assistant, working collaboratively with Teachers, SENCO's and Intervention Specialists. We also have a Future Teachers Programme who offers you he opportunity to gain classroom-based experience which will support your application for a PGCE!

Your role will consist of supporting children in the classroom, during sensory play and outdoor activities and may involve an element of personal care. The working hours will be 8:30am-3:30pm, 5 days per week, and will initially be on a supply basis. However, suitable applicants have been offered permanent roles in school and this is something we endeavour to find for you.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
