Assessment for Learning is also considered to be of high importance and all staff place heavy emphasis on the consistent implementation of health and safety procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of all who work within the department.
At GCSE level, students are examined on two units. Currently the first unit accounts for 50% of the final grade and is based around a practical activity and a comprehensive design portfolio.
