Teaching Personnel currently have opportunities for recent Psychology Graduates to start a career supporting young people with autism within a school.
This position will be full-time, starting in September at the beginning of the academic year.
The highlights of this position will include:
- You will be supported by Teaching Personnel throughout your employment, with the opportunity to progress onto permanent positions.
- This position will be highly rewarding as you will have the opportunity to work with pupils who are more vulnerable than their peers.
- A weekly salary of £385 to £450 per week.
To be able to work within this role, you must be willing to apply for a fully enhanced DBS check, as well as provide at least two employment-based references that cover the last two years of your employment history. You will also be required to complete a safeguarding course.
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for working alongside the pupils who have special educational needs. You will be working with individuals or within small groups of students who have autism. It is essential that you are able to apply what you learnt at university into the classroom. You should already have a good understanding of autism and the impact that it can have on the development of young people.
The school that you will be working in is in a deprived area in Manchester. There are large issues with behaviour, you must be keen to get involved to support other members of staff with this. The school has recently made large improvements to the education that they are providing so now is an ideal time for join the team as it has become a great working environment, despite its challenges.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
