Job description

Full time Design Technology (DT) Teacher required for a Bolton Secondary school from January 2019 till the end of the academic year.

Due to an influx of pupils selecting Design Technology each academic year there is an increased demand for a dynamic DT Teacher who has the relevant knowledge, skills and experience in Design Technology.

  • Full time DT Teacher required from January 2019.
  • Must hold QTS alongside relevant degree level qualification within DT.
  • Prior experience using machinery and organising practicals is essential alongside a thorough understanding Knowledge of Health and Safety requirements when using tools and or equipment.
  • Pay in line with MPS/UPS £23, 720 - £39, 406.

The incoming DT Teacher will be responsible for;

  • Plan, prepare and deliver lessons designed to foster a passion for the subject and develop skills pupils require to progress.
  • Organising and setting up equipment and materials for practical lessons.
  • Support the pupils and class teacher in order to safely use equipment and resources.
  • Up to date knowledge of Health and Safety regulations in line with monitoring, maintaining resources and equipment ensuring it meets all relevant requirements
  • Operate and order materials, preparation and labelling of equipment and facilitate exhibition work.

The school is located in Farnworth at the border between Bury and Salford; easily accessible via the M61and the surrounding areas, which include Bury, Wigan, Salford and Chorley. Public transport links are also easily accessible, with the Bus and Train station a few miles away from the school.
