Design & Technology Technician

Teaching Personnel are currently working with a lovely and supportive school in Medway, Kent, who are seeking a Design & Technology Technician to join their fantastic team. Playing a pivotal role in the organisation and support to our teachers and leaders of this faculty, the successful candidate will be knowledgeable about their subject area, professional and motivated. The successful applicant will be supporting product design, food preparation & nutrition and art.

Applicants should have a minimum qualification of an A Level in a Design & Technology remit, or appropriate industry experience.

Overview

Full Time (37.5 Hours) - Term Time Only (39 weeks PA)

An exciting opportunity for a Design & Technology Technician.

The role is required as soon as possible to prepare materials, maintain stocks and to provide support in the classroom.

The Design & Technology Department has excellent facilities and the role offers an interesting range of tasks.

About the role

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Maintain and operate the store system for tools and materials.
  • Maintain workshops, machines, tools and equipment, keeping departmental records up to date as necessary.
  • Order materials in conjunction with the Head of Department and Key Stage 3 Coordinator.
  • Receive stock order deliveries, check their contents and organise their storage.
  • Maintain the developing computerised stock order system.
  • Prepare materials and equipment for classroom use.
  • Work towards full workshop machine Health and Safety accreditation
