Full time Design and Technology Teacher required on a full basis from October 2019 or earlier for a Bolton based Secondary school based in the Great Lever region.

The Headteacher and Head of Department wish to appoint a skilled practitioner who is seeking an exciting opportunity to join a welcoming staff team.   • Full time Design and Technology Teacher required from October 2019 or earlier.
  • Must hold QTS alongside relevant degree level qualification within any disciplines (Resistant Materials, Graphics, Textiles, Electronics, Food Technology and Product Design).
  • Applications are welcome from both experience and newly qualified teachers as relevant support will be provided for the successful post-holder.
  • Excellent location easily accessible via the M60.
  • Pay in line with MPS/UPS £23, 720 - £39, 406.

This renowned Secondary school has just over 1000 pupils currently enrolled, aged 11-16, and has consistently been graded 'Good with Outstanding Features' by Ofsted; "Teaching is outstanding and at the core of school activities, results are high and well above national averages. As the successful Design and Technology Teacher you will be required to lead a full time table, taking on full responsibilities and taking part in co-curricular activities. Your responsibilities will include but may not be limited to;

  • Plan, prepare and deliver lessons designed to foster a passion for the subject and develop skills pupils require to progress.
  • Organising and setting up equipment and materials for practical lessons.
  • Up to date knowledge of Health and Safety regulations in line with monitoring, maintaining resources and equipment ensuring it meets all relevant requirements
  • Operate and order materials, preparation and labelling of equipment and facilitate exhibition work.

The school is located in Great Lever at the border between Bury and Bolton and is easily accessible via the M61 and the surrounding areas, which include Bury, Wigan, Salford and Chorley. Public transport links are also easily accessible, with the Bus and Train station a few miles away from the school.
