Autism classroom support teaching assistant

Opportunity to work as part of a dedicated team supporting primary school children who have been diagnosed with autism.

I am working with a special needs school based near Croydon that caters solely for children who are on the autistic spectrum. They are looking for a teaching assistant to join their team as soon as possible on a full time basis. You will work term time only, and the hours are 08:30am - 15:30pm, however the students are only in school from 09:15am - 15:15pm.

This role would suit you if you have any of the following:

  • Experience working with children or adults who have autism including knowledge of PECs, Makaton or British Sign Language
  • Psychology degree
  • Mental health background
  • Ability to manage challenging behaviour and maintain a calm learning environment
  • Full time availability to work as a teaching assistant in Croydon

  • £55-£65 per day, dependent on experience

Whilst employed by Teaching Personnel you will receive a competitive daily pay rate and we will also pay a national insurance and pension contribution for you - we do not use an umbrella company.
