This role will be working with children with complex special educational needs and with be starting in September 2020 and will carry on until the end of the academic year.

A large, inclusive primary school in the Bury (BL9) area is currently looking for a learning support teaching assistant to work 1:1 and with small groups, providing classroom based support to children with Autism and Emotional Behavioural Difficulties.

The ideal candidate:

The school is looking to recruit a number of teaching assistants with degrees in Music, Drama and Art. The school has recently opened a nurture unit for pupils going into crisis. They have found pupils using alternative and creative activities have had a therapeutic impact on the pupils who are struggling with social emotional mental heath needs.

You must be willing to provide help and support to children with Autism, Challenging Behaviour, Social and Emotional Mental Health and Learning Difficulties. The Head teacher is looking for graduated with knowledge of Music, Drama and Art and successful candidates should have previous experience working with young people.

• You must have previous experience working with children in a classroom or other setting.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
