Two schools that I represent are part of a forward thinking trust: Thinking Schools Academy Trust (TSAT). TSAT is a school based, cross phase Multi-Academy Trust that operates in two hubs; Medway and Portsmouth. The core purpose and ambition of TSAT is to transform the life chances of young people through the application of a cognitive approach to education.

The Trust prides itself on the very high quality of support and services it is able to provide to all its schools, these include:

  • Academic support e.g. Specialist Leaders of Education in specific subjects and Key Stage leadership and strategic planning to support students.
  • Pastoral support e.g. the Trust employs its own safeguarding and attendance officer to support all schools.
  • Leadership support e.g. secondments between school leadership teams

Ideal candidate:

TSAT are now seeking enthusiastic graduates within the fields of English, Maths, Science and Humanities who are keen to work within a school as a Teaching Assistant or Cover Supervisor, whereby you can support students in their progress and attainment within your specialised subject.

The Trust recognises the importance in subject specialists and wants to welcome graduates who are seeking paid work experience within schools and ideally who have the desire to train as a teacher in the future.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have a degree in an academic or sports subject
  • Have experience of working with children 11 plus
  • Be committed to the schools cognitive learning approach
  • Be committed their continual professional development
  • Have a desire to want to train to teach in the future

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
