Cover Supervisor - Students with a Degree

Job description

One of our client Secondary School has come to us seeking a "supply" cover supervisor. Due to an increased demand for this particular school and some nearby schools in the area, we are looking to build up a pool of cover supervisors ready for next term and in the new academic year.

What does a Cover Supervisor do?

Cover supervisors are responsible for managing the lessons when the teacher is absent for the day. This involves making sure that the class is following the work that the teacher has set for them in the lesson plan and also making sure behaviour is excellent by following the school's behaviour policy. Lesson plans are generally already set so it is the job of the cover supervisor to engage the entire class in a way that means the work set, is completed with minimal disruption.

What qualities do you need?

  • Confident public speaking
  • Fun but firm presence
  • Ability to be organised
  • An interest in education
  • A strength in any subject across the secondary curriculum KS3-4

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
