We have recently been asked by one of our clients situated in the Rotherham area to recruit for an outstanding Cover Supervisor to work in their school. The school is of mixed secondary status that provides education to students between the ages of 11 and 18. This really is an excellent school to work at and be part of. Feedback from temporary members of staff have commented on the positive ambience, the general cooperation shown by the staff at school as well as the overall pleasantness of the students. The school has only recently achieved a good report via OFSTED with outstanding features. The excellent infrastructure of the school has had such a positive affect on the school and has improved many aspects.

The role of Cover Supervisor can be potentially useful for those who are thinking of entering the teaching profession. On other hand if you just have a genuine passion for working with children then this could be the role for you too. One of the main duties for the Cover Supervisor is to ensure that all students are kept on task with their set work and that this is carried out in a calm and harmonious manner. The position demands versatility as every day will be different as you will be covering several different subjects on a daily basis. The position also demands that the successful candidate has excellent organisational skills.

In order to be considered for this position it is important that you meet the following criteria:

  • You are educated to degree standard or the educational equivalent
  • You have experience of working with children, preferably in a classroom based environment, however, vocational experience will be taken into consideration
  • You have the ability to diffuse any awkward situation and are confident to carry our school discipline policy as and when required
  • You possess excellent organisational and communication skills
  • You possess a current child workforce DBS or are willing to apply for a new DBS check

The position is due to commence on 29th April and will run until the end of the academic year however, this could be extended into the next academic year for the correct candidate. This is a full time position Monday to Friday (08.30 - 15.00). Pay will be reflective of experience ranging from £60 - £70 per day.
