Cover Supervisor
Manchester

Have you thought about a career in secondary education? Perhaps you're looking to study a PGCE in the near future but wish to gain school based experience in preparation for this?

If so, we want to hear from you!

  • Full-time role, term time only!
  • Immediate start date
  • Earn up to £1350 per month (dependant on experience)
  • Ideal role for graduates looking to pursue a career in education
  • Vibrant supportive secondary school in South Manchester - easily accessible via public transport, large free car park for all staff members

Teaching Personnel are seeking to appoint a professional, dynamic and flexible Cover Supervisor to join our partner schools support team from February 2019.The successful candidate should be passionate about supporting young people in their learning, will enjoy engaging with our students and also demonstrate excellent behaviour for management skills and an 'inclusive ethos'.

We are looking for someone who is confident in covering whole classes during the short-term absence of teachers. Work will be set by the absent teachers but the successful cover supervisor will be required to respond to questions, maintain good order and keep pupils on task, to ensure the highest possible standards of achievement and personal development.

Previous experience in a similar role would be desirable but is not essential as full training and support will be given. Teaching Personnel run a number of CPD courses including 'Becoming A Cover Supervisor' which will take place in February 2019.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in a secondary education setting as a full teaching qualification is not a prerequisite. However, a good standard of literacy and numeracy is required with sound subject knowledge across all areas. This might be demonstrated through educational qualifications or previous professional experience.

Our client school has been on an amazing journey over the past few years, leading it to be nationally recognised for its continuous improvement. In their most recent Ofsted inspection, the school received 'Good' in all areas including leadership and management, behaviour and safety of pupils, quality of teaching and achievement of pupils.

The schools vision is to provide a fantastic future for all. Staff work relentlessly on excellent manners, a willingness to try new experiences and a commitment to working hard. This is an exciting time to join our partner school after an £11.6m investment last academic year. The school now has excellent facilities throughout and staffs are welcoming to all new members of the school community making it a vibrant positive work environment!

The school is located in Wythenshawe, a short drive from exit 4 on the M56 and easily accessible via Metro links from the city centre and public bus routes.

To apply for this position, please upload your CV for consideration. To find out further information about this position or any other positions with Teaching Personnel, please contact the Manchester Secondary Branch.
