Required for September 2018

Are you looking for experience in a secondary school before applying to undertake a Teacher Training course? Have you finished your university studies and looking for a route into the education system? Or are you an experienced Cover Supervisor looking for your next challenge? Across Sheffield we have lots of secondary schools searching for committed and professional people to undertake Cover Supervisor roles.

What a Cover Supervisor's day looks like?

  • Deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of a classroom teacher on a day to day or short term basis
  • You will need to be able to keep the students engaged and build rapport quickly with students and staff
  • Comfortable covering all subjects up to KS3 - KS4
  • Comfortable dealing with challenging behaviour and able to keep calm under pressure

Ideally you will already have some experience in a school, tuition or alternative education setting. We will however, consider graduates who don't necessarily have school based experience but are keen to gain experience before undertaking a PGCE.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
