Cover Supervisor

Job description

Due to a change within the staff team, our partner school in the Barnsley area of South Yorkshire are seeking to appoint a Cover Supervisor on a full time basis. This is a temporary post initially to start ASAP with the opportunity to become permanent for the successful applicant.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will work closely with teachers and the pastoral team, supporting in lessons and covering full classes with pre-set work. You will ideally have previous experience as a cover supervisor or exposure to working in a classroom within a secondary school. This would be suited to a graduate and aspiring teacher in any secondary subject, You will need to be flexible and confident teaching in a range of subjects across the school across Year 7 -11. Additionally, must be available full time to undertake the position, working within the schools internal covering team taking on lessons in the absence of class teachers.

  • Full time cover supervisor starting ASAP
  • Located just 20 minutes from the city centre on public transport
  • Temporary supply position until July initially (could become permanent)
  • Excellent rates of pay dependant on experience - up to £70 per day
  • Covering lessons, leading small groups and supporting 1:1

This is an excellent opportunity to join a small secondary school and become part of the experienced staff team. As a cover supervisor, you will be given full support, coaching and training from the school and be invited to attend their CPD sessions (weekly after school).
