Job Advert: Maths Teacher

Starting as soon as possible at a Secondary School in the Stockport area

We are seeking an enthusiastic, qualified, and experienced Maths Teacher to join our thriving secondary school in the Stockport area. The successful candidate will have a strong background in teaching mathematics and a passion for inspiring students to excel in their studies.

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate must hold a relevant teaching qualification, such as a PGCE or QTS, and have a degree in Mathematics or a related subject. Previous experience teaching in a secondary school setting is essential, as well as a proven track record of successfully delivering engaging and effective lessons.

Responsibilities

As a Maths Teacher at our school, you will be responsible for:

  1. Planning and delivering high-quality lessons that cater to the diverse needs of our students
  2. Setting and marking assignments, tests, and exams to monitor progress and provide constructive feedback
  3. Preparing resources and materials for lessons, including the use of interactive technology
  4. Communicating effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure a positive learning environment
  5. Participating in departmental meetings and professional development activities to continually improve teaching practices

Person Specification

The successful candidate will possess the following qualities:

  • Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for teaching Mathematics
  • A creative and innovative approach to teaching, with a focus on engaging students and promoting their learning
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
  • A commitment to professional development and a desire to continually improve teaching practices
  • Flexibility and adaptability in the face of changing circumstances and new challenges

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
