Location: Newport, South Wales
Pay: £110–£120 per day
Hours: 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM
Start Date: January 2025


About the Role

Do you have the confidence to take charge and keep a class buzzing with energy? A friendly and supportive secondary school in Newport is on the lookout for a Cover Supervisor to join their team from January 2025!

You’ll be stepping into classrooms across different subjects, delivering pre-set lessons when teachers are away. No need to be a subject expert — just bring your confidence, organisation, and ability to keep students engaged and on track.

Perfect for graduates exploring teaching, teaching assistants ready to level up, or anyone with experience working with young people who wants to make a real difference!


What We’re Looking For

Must be 18 or over
✅ Confidence to lead a class and manage behaviour positively
✅ Supportive of students’ academic, social, and emotional growth
✅ Familiar with core curriculum subjects
Experience with young people (youth work, coaching, tutoring) is a bonus!


We’ll Help You With:

  • Education Workforce Council (EWC) registration
  • Enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service
  • Level 2 Safeguarding training
  • Two professional references covering  24 months employment

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
