Job description

Are you passionate about supporting young people who need a more tailored approach to education? We are looking for a dedicated Cover Supervisor, Mentor or Unqualified Teacher to join a small, supportive setting near Lytchett Minster. This is a rewarding role where you will make a genuine difference to pupils who are ready to take the next step towards a mainstream curriculum.

About the School

  • A small, nurturing environment where every pupil is referred via an admittance panel and supported by a multidisciplinary team.
  • Most pupils are referred for medical reasons, and some have EHCPs.
  • Pupils are aged 7 to 16, each following an individualised learning journey.
  • The setting focuses on pupils who are preparing to re-engage with, or transition back to, a mainstream curriculum.

About the Role

  • Full-time is preferred, though a 4-day working week will be considered for the right candidate.
  • You will deliver and supervise the NCFE programme, supporting students working on personalised online projects, along with some delivery of PSHE.
  • You will play a key pastoral and academic role, helping students stay motivated, engaged and on track.
  • This role requires someone calm, nurturing, resilient and confident when working with children with additional needs.
  • The setting is located close to Lytchett Minster School (not affiliated). Please ensure you are able to travel reliably to this area.

Who We’re Looking For

  • Cover Supervisors, Mentors, or Unqualified Teachers with experience supporting young people.
  • Someone comfortable and confident working with pupils with varied needs and backgrounds.
  • A flexible, positive and proactive team player with strong behaviour management and communication skills.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
