A Secondary School in Slough, Berkshire are looking for an experienced teacher of computing to join the department in January 2019. The successful candidate will possess, or have the potential for, outstanding teaching skills and will be an asset to this popular subject. 

The Computing Department boasts a track record of improvement and success and the importance of achieving in the subject is clearly recognised by the pupils.  

Students are taught a broad and balanced curriculum at Key Stage 3, bringing together Computer Science, computational thinking, information technologies and digital literacy.  Key Stage 3 students are taught in mixed ability groups. Students have a one hour lesson per week in Years 7, and 8.

At KS4 students have can choose to study the OCR GCSE Computing course where a traditional programming route is preferred but we also offer ICT in Digital Media as a vocational option. Courses in the department are popular choice, and we expect this to continue.

In the Sixth Form, the school offer the new A Level course in Computer Science through OCR.

Recently designated “Outstanding” this is a school where “pupils make outstanding progress “ is well known for being a great school to teach in, where the students are highly aspirational. The school were judged ‘Good’ by Ofsted in January 2016 where the school was described as having a ‘deep seated conviction and moral purpose that all pupils have the right to an excellent education which drives a very positive culture in the school’.
