Teaching Personnel are recruiting a Learning support assistant to work in a mainstream school in the Middlesbrough area. This role will begin after Easter and working hours will be full-time Monday-Friday (08:20 - 15:15). The contract will initially be temporary, but should the initial term in the school be a success there is a chance that the school can take you on a school based permanent contract. The learning support assistant must have qualifications that allow them to work with pupils that have special educational needs, this can be through direct experience or qualifications at university level.

The learning support assistant will be required to work closely with a student who has autism and is struggling to concentrate in lessons. The educator will be asked to buddy up with the pupils across all lessons, so it is important the educator has a good general knowledge of all subject areas. The pupil is approaching their GCSE examinations so an impetus on academia will be needed. The pupil also sometime struggles to get on with other pupils so ensuring the pupils is enjoying school life will also be paramount.

The role

  • Start date: After Easter
  • £70 minimum pay per day.
  • Opportunity to work towards a full-time role in the education sector.
  • Payments are made on a PAYE basis, with payments being made a week in arrears.
  • The learning support assistant will be asked to buddy up with a pupil with Autism in a busy school in Middlesbrough.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
