Job Description:
Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with a school based in the Chichester area that are looking to appoint a graduate of computer science or related degree to join them in September 2018 to deliver the national curriculum for IT and Computer Science. The school would initially employ the successful graduate on a cover supervisor/unqualified basis with a view to progress onto a teacher training course with the school or will the school will provide a reference in order to support a future teacher training application.
The school is one of many that makes up one of the most successful academy trusts in the UK. The trust pays typically 2.5% higher than the national pay scale for teachers with staff wellbeing high on their agenda. The Trust prides themselves on the continual professional development opportunities they offer their staff across the trust as a whole.
The Computing department is a small yet emerging department in comparison to other departments in the school, however it has a relaxed and friendly atmosphere led by an experienced and very supportive subject leader. The department regularly shares resources and staff work in collaboration with one another. Students who choose to study Computer Science at KS4 follow a preparatory course in Year 9 which helps students to consolidate some key subject areas prior to moving on to the GCSE syllabus for years 10 and 11.
The Role, salary and start date:
- To deliver teaching and learning of Computer Science in KS 3/4 and therefore help students achieve excellent academic results, and be a role-model/impact the academy more widely.
- With support to plan and deliver lessons and sequences of lessons that promote progress of pupils
- To provide a nurturing classroom and academy environment that helps students to develop as learners.
- Depending on degree and level of experience, the successful graduate will offered between £60-£80 per day meaning you could earn up £400 per week.
- You will be required to start on the 3rd September 2018 on a full time basis
- Permanent and temporary roles available
