Complex Needs Teaching Assistant- Tameside

Job description

Full time position for a Teaching Assistant commencing as soon as possible. The position is intially tempoary running up untill the end of the academic year. This setting also has permenant positions avaliable so Teaching Assistants seeking long term placements are encouraged to apply.

The setting is a special school based in Tameside. The school provides education for pupils 11- 16 who have a range of needs which may include: complex learning difficulties, Autism, Down syndrome and cerebral palsy.

The role will involve working in collaboration with the Classroom Teacher to support the ongoing development of pupils with SEN. Ideally the Teaching Assistant will have:

  • Experience working within a special needs setting (highly desirable)
  • An in-depth understanding of the importance of differentiation and assuring that learning is accessible to all pupils
  • A commitment to assuring the optimal development of pupils with complex needs
