Job description

I work with several specialist units that cater for pupils with challenging behaviour and learning difficulties with immediate work opportunities for teaching assistants in Exeter and Torquay. I am looking for an enthusiastic individual with a keen interest in supporting young learners in class.

You will be responsible for assisting the class teacher and providing one-to-one/group support to students of primary or secondary level (dependent on experience and age group preference).

The ideal applicant will have prior experience working in the classroom and have the ability to support children and teenagers with SEN; in particular those with Autism, Asperger's, Social Emotional & Mental Health or behavioural issues. A valid qualification in 'Team Teach' or other similar positive handling training would be beneficial but not essential. If you don't have direct experience then it doesn't matter, as I would still love to hear from you! If you think you have transferable skills then please still apply!
