Job description

Flexible and temporary classroom assistants required for a Salford Roman Catholic Secondary school, starting immediately, on an ad-hoc basis, till the end of the academic year.

Due to an internal restructure the support department within this Ofsted graded 'Outstanding' Secondary school are seeking to recruit two dynamic classroom assistants to work within there school across Key stages 3 and 4.

  • Classroom Assistant, flexible ad-hoc basis, starting immediately.
  • Initially on a temporary basis with the potential to progress.
  • Must have prior experience working with young people within an education capacity.
  • Continued access to CPD training programmes through partner Secondary schools.
  • Gain valuable hands on experience within and Ofsted graded 'Outstanding' RC Secondary School.
  • Earn up to £1200 per month.

This mixed comprehensive Secondary school wish to utilise additional classroom assistants to support identified pupils, at Key Stages 3/4, on a 1:1 and small group basis. The incoming classroom assistants can expect to join a supportive staff team which pride themselves in the development of their pupils.

The responsibilities for the successful classroom assistants will include;

  • To support with the teaching and learning across all subjects alongside the class teacher.
  • To work 1:1 and in small intervention based groups with identified pupils within Maths, English and Science.
  • To evaluate and assess the learning for pupils taking appropriate action in collaboration with Senior Leadership.
  • Promote a positive growth mind-set and manage behaviour in class in line with school behaviour policies.

Located in the Eccles region of Salford, the school is based in the heart of the town with access through major motorway links including the M60/A580 (East Lancashire Road)and the surrounding areas; Bury, Bolton and Trafford.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
