Teaching Personnel are working with schools and alternative providers in Hull and the East Riding of Yorkshire to support children that are a risk of being excluded or, who are unable to attend school owing to exclusion or medical needs.

The schools are looking for exceptional teachers who can operate within a team and engage children to participate with their learning once more. This will then lead to either successful returns to mainstream school or an alternative setting.

Some of the children that these schools engage with have had gaps in their education or have lost confidence in their ability to succeed. The ideal candidate is committed to raising achievement and increasing their resilience. This post will play an essential role in supporting this ambition and the ideal candidate will feel a drive to improve the lives of children who are struggling with their attainment.

The ideal candidate will:

Possess substantial experience and understanding of children who have additional needs that precludes positive access to learning.

Be a skilled teacher with the capability to work with children at different ages and stages of development to achieve successful outcomes.

Be capable of quickly constructing positive relationships and gain the confidence of young people so that they are able to resume their educational development.

Work well within a team and be well organised.

Be solution focused, flexible and have a good sense of humour.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
